  • What kinds of data is included in HoodQ reports?
HoodQ reports focus on the data sets that homebuyers are most interested in when considering a new home. Each HoodQ Address Report™ and HoodQ Detailed Report™ provides the following data: SCHOOLS - closest Elementary, Middle and High Schools. We include assigned schools (attendance zones) for the addresses that fall within a School District Board that has provided HoodQ with their catchment data. See information below regarding school scores. PARKS & REC - we not only include the closest parks, we include the facilities within the parks to allow homebuyers to match homes with their aspired lifestyle. TRANSIT - the nearest rail (subway, LRT) and the nearest street transit (bus, streetcar) where available. SAFETY - keeping the reports as a positive marketing piece for you, we avoid crime ratings and instead, include the closest hospital, fire station and police station. HoodQ School Reports™ are one-page reports specific to an exact address. Each report displays the Public and Catholic Schools -- including the designated catchment schools, Private, Alternative and Special Education Schools. ABOUT SCHOOL SCORES School Scores are based on publicly available provincial standardized testing results, aggregated at the school level, standardized, weighted, and rescaled to generate a score out of 10. Absence of a score generally means that the school did not participate in testing in the most recent year, the school's population was too small for meaningful results, but other reasons may apply. For Ontario, School Scores are based on results provided by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), an Ontario provincial agency. For grade 3 and grade 6 students, the Percentage of Students Achieving the Provincial Standard in Reading, Writing and Mathematics was used. For high schools, the Percentage of Grade 9 Students Achieving the Provincial Standard in Academic and Applied Mathematics, and Percentage of Students that Passed the Grade 10 OSSLT on Their First Attempt are the measures we used. For British Columbia, School scores are based on results provided by the Education Analytics department of the Ministry of Education. For elementary schools, the scores are based on Grade 4 Numeracy, Reading, and Writing and Grade 7 Numeracy, Reading, and Writing. High school scores are based on the percentage of students who achieved a letter grade of C or better in their final English language and Communication courses. For Alberta, School Scores are based on results provided by the Student Learning Assessments and Provincial Achievement Testing department of Alberta Education. Elementary scores are based on English and French test achievement in the areas of English, French, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. High school scores are based on English and French test achievement for grade 9 students in the areas of English, French, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
